asksirwlucas asked: Dear Mrs. Bennet! All this time, I had not the smallest idea that your full name was Mrs. Fanny Bennet. I hope your family is in good health. Is Mr. Bennet in good health? I have not seen him on Tumblr lately for I am getting worried about him.

Fanny indeed. After my dearest aunt Fanny on my mother’s side. Such larks I had at her home as a child. Ah how long ago now. Is it strange to find how old we of our old group have become? Your daughter married and my three all settled! How lucky we all have been in our advancing years!
Everyone is indeed in good health, thank heaven. Lydia is expecting twins and had a rather frightening bout of scarlet fever not too long ago. However she has recovered most bravely and fully and the babes are both alright! My Jane is also expecting with her husband Mr. Bingley. I shall be positively surrounded by grandchildren soon!
And Mr. Bennet is in good health. Although I barely see him. He is forever in his study reading or examining something or other. ‘Tis hard to get him to say three words at dinner or lift his nose from the book page!
How fairs your family? How is dear Charlotte fairing?
Yours affectionately, Mrs. Bennet, etc.

askmarycrawford asked: I believe all of that was Henrys doing. I believe he was quite worried about Kittys spirits. I know she must have been very worried about her poor sister and it seems he has helped you a little too. No, madame. He has his own estate, Everingham in Norfolk. The parish is the house of my sister, Mrs. Grant and her husband, Dr. Grant. I thank you for the invitation and assure you we would love to visit. I believe I introduced myself to them here on tumblr and we began talking, just as we are now.

She was poor little lamb. She is so very sweet to her sister. And how lovely for him! A good estate is always good to have. Especially in terms to marriages and all. A lucky girl would catch him some day soon I reckon!
And how well met indeed on tumblr! This modern technology thing is quite useful for making such acquaintances.

askmarycrawford asked: I am glad you have heard great things of us. Yes, my brother Henry has found your daughters as agreeable as I. It was, I believe Henrys idea to have Kitty visit us. He has taken a liking to her. She is such a sweet girl and we have become the best of friends. The parish in Mansfield, where my brother and I spend a lot of our time, is very beautiful. We have a great garden where I love to take my walks.

She is indeed one of the sweetest of my girls. How glad I am, again, that she has made friends with you! And I heard that you and your brother both have been a great comfort to my Lydia during her late fever. It does my nerves good to know that they are well cared for.

Kitty has told me precious little about your dear brother. Though she does say that he is indeed a fine fellow and a great friend to her. He stands to inherit the lovely Mansfield Park I suppose? How absolutely lovely. I do wish that, if Kitty and Lydia should chance to come for a visit at this old place you both shall come as well for you are most welcome. We have some lovely walking avenues of our own here at Longbourne. My Lizzie used to walk the paths a fields dozens of times a day when she was unmarried yet. Garden walks are most wonderful at this time of year, healthful they tell me, though I am not much one for walking. Rattles my nerves to no end.

In the beaten way of conversation may I ask how my girls came to make your acquaintances? A lucky day for them indeed.

Yours, Mrs. Bennet, etc.

Ah, no lace! No lace, Mrs Bennet, I beg of you!

I could not agree more, Mr. Bennet.

Why Lace is always added to any gown with an ounce of respect. ‘Tis a good detail!

askcolonelbrandon asked: Good Morning, Mrs. Bennet. I am Colonel Brandon from Sense and Sensibility. I do hope that you and Mr. Bennet are well.

A Good Morning to yourself Colonel Brandon! We are all very well here at Longbourne. I have been kept busy by my friends here and I had a small attack of nerves when I heard of my daughter Lydia’s recent bout of fever. ‘Tis so frightening in her delicate state as I’m sure you know. But she and I have both very much recovered.
I must congratulate you, sir, on your approaching marriage! How splendid for you and Miss Marianne both! I have only recently begun an acquaintance with your betrothed and she seems a most lovely creature. When is the wedding to be?
I hope this letter finds you in good health and happiness,

Yours affectionately, Mrs. Bennet, etc.

askmarycrawford asked: Hello Mrs. Bennet, I am Mary Crawford. I have been acquainted with all of your daughters. They are all very lovely young women. I have just left Newcastle where I was visiting with your Lydia and Kitty with my brother, Henry. Henry and I are hoping to see Miss Kitty visiting us in Mansfield in the near future, if you and your husband would be so kind as to allow it. I hope we shall meet in the near future and that you are well.

Good day to you Miss Crawford! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance  as well. So many lovely letters I am receiving nowadays, knowing new faces in one’s social circle is always a treat!
Thank you for the compliment to my daughters. They are all such sweet creatures, though they run me ragged with worry sometimes. I am glad that Lydia and Kitty have made such a lovely friend as you! I have heard very good things about both you and your fine brother from my girls. A Mr. Henry Crawford I believe?
And how absolutely kind it ‘tis of you to offer my girls a visit. Of course we shall allow it! I shall speak to Mr. Bennet about it forthwith. Do tell me about your lovely estate at Mansfield! I have only heard the scantest of descriptions about it’s grandeur but would like a true picture in my mind. And indeed I too hope to make your acquaintance beyond the page. I hope we shall meet soon and I hope this letter finds you in the upmost state of happiness and health!
Yours affectionately Mrs. Bennet, etc.
